long weekends are superfine
I had a relaxing weekend for the first time in what feels like a long time. I went to Lake Sacandaga with my Sweetie. It's about 30 miles south of Lake George and clear and warm and beautiful. Sweetie's mom has a small cabin and we joined her and Sweetie's grandparents. The grandparents are ridiculously cute - they are 88 and 89 and spend their days doing chores and walking back and forth to the lake ........ very....... slowly....... while holding hands.
I went swimming for hours (and I'm sore for it now) and we had huge hot dogs and local corn and tomatoes and peaches and yum! I can't wait to go back on Labor Day weekend when I turn 30!! The nicest part was that we had a 3-day weekend because I took Friday off and he took Sunday off. We drove home late Saturday night, fighting sleep (we did this by loudly singing along with Phish, unfortunately there are a lot of instrumental bits on Lawnboy so we did our best to approximate the sounds of the instruments and make up additional verses to Reba.
Yesterday we got up late and had a big brunch (mmm... bacon) and cozied up in front of the tv with salt & vinegar chips and champagne (a classy combo, I know).
Now I'm at work and I'm approving invoices and timesheets and filing paperwork and it's just not as good as sleeping in and wearing my swim suit all day and going barefoot.
